Weekly lawn mowing in Dallas-Fort Worth runs about $35 to $75 per visit for most homes. The number is set by how much turf you actually have, not by the size of your lot on paper, because the house, driveway, and beds take up a large share of a typical suburban property.

Most quotes cluster in a narrow band, so when one comes in far below the others it is usually because something has been left out. Here is how the pricing actually works.

What it costs by turf area

Priced on mowable grass, which on a typical DFW lot is roughly half the total lot size once the house and drive are removed.

Why every other week costs more per visit

It looks backwards until you have done it. Two weeks of Bermuda growth in May is a much harder cut than one week: it takes longer, it needs bagging rather than mulching, and it stresses the lawn because you are removing more than a third of the blade at once.

Every other week saves money overall, but expect to pay roughly 25 percent more per visit. Through the peak growing season, weekly is genuinely better for the lawn.

What should be included every visit

If a quote does not cover all of these, you are comparing different things.

  • Mowing at the correct height for your grass type and the season
  • Edging along every walk, drive, and bed line
  • Line trimming around trees, posts, and fences
  • Blowing all hard surfaces clean, including the street
  • Clippings bagged or mulched depending on growth

What a cheap quote usually leaves out

The gap between a $25 quote and a $45 quote is rarely the mowing. It is edging done occasionally instead of weekly, no blowing, a crew with no liability insurance, and a schedule that slips whenever something better comes along.

The insurance one matters more than people realise. A mower throws debris. If an uninsured crew puts a rock through your window or your neighbour's car, that is your problem to sort out.

Ask any company for proof of general liability insurance. A real one will send it without hesitating.

Cut height is what separates good from cheap

Bermuda wants to be cut short, roughly 1 to 2 inches. St. Augustine wants to be tall, 3 to 4 inches, and scalping it produces bare patches that never fill back in. Zoysia sits between them.

A crew running one blade height across every yard on the route is a crew making your lawn worse while charging you for it. Height should also rise going into the hottest part of summer and drop again in autumn.

Key takeaways

  • Weekly mowing in DFW runs $35 to $75 per visit, priced on mowable turf rather than lot size
  • Every other week costs about 25 percent more per visit because there is more growth to cut
  • A complete visit is mow, edge, trim, and blow, every time
  • Cheap quotes usually skip edging, blowing, or liability insurance
  • Cut height by grass type matters more to lawn health than almost anything else
