Most paver patios run $5,000-$40,000, with a typical mid-size project landing around $15,000-$22,000. Flower Mound falls in the same range as the rest of DFW; what moves the number here is the ground, because many of the best lots in town are not flat.
What each project level includes
| Project level | Typical range | What it covers |
|---|
| Basic | $5,000-$14,000 | A modest paver patio (200-450 sq ft) on a properly engineered base with standard pavers. |
| Mid-range | $15,000-$25,000 | A larger patio with a seat wall, premium pavers or travertine, and integrated steps or borders. |
| High-end | $26,000-$40,000+ | An expansive patio integrated with a fire feature, outdoor kitchen, lighting, and natural stone. |

What affects your price
- Square footage. The single biggest driver; more area means more material, base, and labor.
- Material. Standard pavers cost less than travertine or natural flagstone.
- Base and drainage. Proper excavation, base depth, and drainage in clay soil add cost but prevent failure.
- Add-ons. Seat walls, steps, fire features, and lighting all increase the investment.
Why Flower Mound patios are built differently
Flower Mound has terrain. Lots in Bridlewood, Canyon Falls, and along the greenbelts roll enough that a flat single-level patio often fights the site. A stepped design with a seat wall or a short terrace usually fits the ground better and looks like it belongs, and splitting the space across two levels separates the dining area from the lounge without a single wall.
The ground under it matters as much as the layout. North Texas clay swells and shrinks with the weather, so the base, the excavation, and the drainage are what keep a patio flat in year five. Cheap bids save money there, which is exactly where a patio fails.
