A sprinkler system in Allen runs $5,500-$8,000 for a small lot with 4-5 zones, $8,500-$12,000 for an average yard with 6-8 zones, and $13,000-$18,000+ for large lots with extensive beds and drip zones. A typical six-zone DFW system lands around $8,500-$9,500 installed.
This page is for homeowners adding irrigation with a new or redesigned landscape. If you are comparing mowing quotes, this is not that page.

Why zones decide the price
A zone is one valve and the piping and heads it feeds, and your water meter can only push so many heads at once. More lawn, more beds, and more plant variety mean more zones. Allen's newer neighborhoods like Twin Creeks and Star Creek tend to have landscapes planted all at once, which is actually the best case for irrigation: the system gets designed around the planting plan instead of retrofitted.
Two Allen-specific notes. First, the clay: trenching here is hard digging, and in an established landscape the care taken putting the yard back is half the job. Second, Texas requires irrigation systems to be installed by a licensed irrigator, so ask for the license number before you compare bids. The full background is in our sprinkler system cost guide for North Texas.
Irrigation as part of the landscape, not after it
The best time to run irrigation is when the landscape is being designed, because the zone layout follows the planting plan: drip for the beds, rotors for the lawn, nothing watering the fence. That is how we build our irrigation systems, and why irrigation shows up in most of our Allen projects as part of a larger design rather than a standalone trench job.
Pricing for your specific yard starts with a zone count. Our Allen irrigation page covers how we design systems for these neighborhoods.
Figures are typical Dallas–Fort Worth ranges for planning, not a quote. Your exact investment depends on site conditions, materials, and the scope of your project.
